Location: Chicago, IL, USA
As promised, we want to keep you all up to date on what we've been up to lately in life in general. We just got back from a major trip to California but we've still been at it at home, too, with fixing up our new house and exploring Chicago and Milwaukee!
Weddings
In the last month, Caleb has been a groomsman in not one, but two weddings! An old co-worker of mine and still a very good friends of ours got married in Rochelle, IL at the end of June and Caleb's childhood best friend who was also our best man got married in Santa Rosa, CA this past weekend. We had a blast celebrating these wonderful people and wish them all the love and happiness for years to come! Father's Day We spent Father's Day or what we like to call our "annual nerd outing" with my dad in Chicago this year. We went to the Museum of Science and Industry this time around followed by a delicious dinner at Quartino. We had the best day and I'm seeing many more family adventures in the city coming our way soon. Diana's New Job I started my new job as a Validation Associate for BioLife at the end of June and we've been celebrating all month long! The new position is a huge honor for me, and I am excited to be getting a lot more focused with my career. One of the many celebratory outings was at The Dawson in Chicago with one of my closest friends, and I highly recommend it. It was my first time dining there but I am already in love! It will be added to the Chicago City Guide soon. Caleb and I also celebrated at our favorite restaurant in Milwaukee, the Smoke Shack, which we highly recommend if you're ever exploring the Beer City. Pup Life Wrigley is doing wonderfully and is loving the hot Chicago summer. We've been going for a lot of drives with him as he's gotten over his car sickness for the most part. We've been playing at the dog park, going shopping at the outlet mall, and going for tons of walks in the many forest preserves that we have up in Lake County. 4th of July We had an amazing 4th of July celebration at our new house with my parents! Caleb grilled up some steak and salmon while I baked some patriotic cupcakes. As usual we all over-ate and ended up having to relax with watching the Cubs due to it raining a little bit. The rain stopped just in time for Caleb and I to make it out to Libertyville's fireworks show though, which was spectacular! Sonoma County, CA Trip Last but certainly not least, we just got back from our trip to California. As I said before, we were out there for a wedding that was luckily in Sonoma County. We wine tasted, ate great food, and spent time with good company. But more to come on that later in their own special posts ;) What have you all been up to this summer? We would love to hear all about your summer stories, too or what you have planned out for the rest of the season! Leave us a comment or drop in and say hello through e-mail!
