Happy Fall everyone! Well that is if you start fall on Sept 1st like we do. We had an incredible summer though and hope you all did, too. Here's a look back at some of the exciting adventures we had this summer...
Location: Detroit, MI, USA
Our 2017 travel season has finally begun! Our first trip of the year was a road trip out to Michigan for a family reunion. We left at lunch on a Friday and returned Sunday evening, so it was a short but very sweet trip. Instead of going straight to Detroit, we decided to stop off in Toledo, OH first to have dinner with some of our family. We ate at our favorite place in all of Toledo, Shorty's True American Roadhouse. Caleb and I shared a 3 meet combo tray of some pulled pork, brisket, and chicken with some mac and cheese, green beans, and lots and lots of corn bread. Shorty's has the best corn bread in the world. My cousin told me they shared their secret with her on how they make it so good...they use cake batter! I'm definitely going to be giving it a try at home sometime to see how close I can replicate it. After we stuffed ourselves full we headed up to Detroit to check in to our hotel, the Hotel St. Regis. We stayed there during our last visit to Detroit, and loved it. It's in a great area and is a very historic hotel. Martin Luther King Jr use to stay there when he would visit Detroit! We always get the best deal on room rates there by booking with Expedia.

Hello there friends! We hope your summers are starting out splendid and that you have lots of fun things planned for the upcoming season. We sure do and are so excited to share it all with you! We've been super busy the last couple months but we love it that way. Here's what we've been up to in Sweet Home Chicago/Milwaukee!
Location: Sonoma County, CA, USA
Wine Country or Sonoma County is a short hour and a half drive from the great city of San Francisco. It is recommended that you rent a car in San Francisco or Oakland (we love renting from Dollar) and driving out to Sonoma for anyone who does not live within driving distance of the area. If you must fly, you can fly in to San Francisco International or Oakland International. We prefer to drive around the area while we are there since there are so many different areas to explore and everything is very spread out in the countryside. However, you must be careful not to drink and drive, so you either have to have a DD, try a wine tour, or see if the hotel you are staying at offers bicycles that you can use to ride from winery to winery. But be careful while drinking and riding a bike, too!

I know, I know, we're about 4 months late. However, I am willing to admit that I am still on my Disney hangover and feel the extreme need to relive this incredibly magical week. So without further ado...let's go to Orlando!
